A Message from our CEO Steph Bolshaw

Thank you for showing an interest in joining Positive Steps at this exciting time as we galvanise our ‘new normal’ ways of working and build upon a strategic programme started in late 2019 to embrace efficiency and effectiveness and to grow our business model. The programme was made up of three key strands –

  • A modern ‘fit for purpose’ delivery centre
  • An empowered and agile workforce
  • Effective systems and processes that embrace innovation, technology, and change

As you will appreciate the programme has been severely affected by the Covid-19 pandemic but despite the significant challenges that threw at us we have remained on course and continued to deliver.

We completed the first strand during lockdown with our refurbished head office and client delivery centre at Medtia Place, Oldham re-opening to clients in mid-July 2020.

In early 2020 all our frontline staff received ICT equipment that enabled them to work agile and continue delivering our vital services for vulnerable people in a variety of ways throughout the various pandemic restrictions. As we prepare to live and work alongside Covid-19 we have adopted a blended approach of home/office/locality working and as restrictions begin to ease, we will focus on establishing locality delivery spaces to complete this strand of work.

It has been challenging to implement our third strand, but good progress has been made and the improvements have been welcomed whilst releasing some efficiency savings.

I am extremely proud of the Positive Steps Team (Trustee’s, Management, Staff and Volunteers) that have achieved so much during these unprecedented times, but we have recognised that we need to strengthen our resources in some key areas of the business to help us complete and sustain the programme.
