Youth Justice Service

How we support young offenders

Oldham Youth Justice prioritise the best interests of children through acknowledging their developmental needs, maturity and experiences in all aspects of our work and seek to break down any structural barriers that may be in place, such as access to services, education, training and employment or housing. We advocate for the child and family, ensuring we work towards achieving the best outcomes for them in both our pre and post Court work.

What can our service offer you?

What is Restorative Justice?

Restorative Justice gives you the chance to meet or communicate with the person who has caused harm. It allows you  to explain the real impact of the crime and how It has affected you. It can leave you feeling empowered and gives you the opportunity to have your say on what has happened and have any questions answered . Restorative Justice also helps the person who has caused harm accept responsibility.

We recognise that when you are harmed by crime it can be a really difficult time. You may have suffered financially, physically or emotionally which can impact on your life. We really hope that as a service we are able to help in some way. We are determined to help you in any way we can.
