We understand that mainstream education is not for every student, so we work in complete collaboration with schools who identify those young people who are becoming detached from mainstream education, to offer a blend, with the aim to fully reintegrate them back into school life. We can also support those year 11 students who are work ready into long term work placements to further enhance their future opportunities.
2 of our students are currently working at Northern Roots 1 day a week and the employer feedback has been amazing!
We are an AQA accredited Centre for Year 10/11 students, and all students will receive AQA’s on completion. Our talented and passionate team deliver a variety of practical sessions, in small groups to develop their life skills, confidence, and self-esteem. Offering a range of meaningful and engaging activities, including:
- Hair Salon
- Bike Maintenance
- Art and Design
- Outdoor Project with Northern Roots
We have a fully functioning hair salon, bike workshop and we have now have an amazing new dance studio.
Attendance registers are taken and fed back to schools by the start of sessions both morning and afternoon. We will contact students who do not attend and update schools.
Progress reviews from key workers will be shared with schools and regular contact enables Positive Futures and the School to ensure each student has the best possible opportunity to reach their full potential. We welcome schools to come along and see the students on their days with us to show the students that we work together.
Positive Steps includes a careers service, and we can arrange an interview with one of our career’s advisors for any student in Positive Futures.
