Who we are

Positive Steps is a unique organisation and have been changing the lives of people in Greater Manchester since 1977. Our current offer involves supporting those in Education, Criminal justice, Family and Community and Safeguarding settings. We are at an exciting point in our development with a focus on growing our impact while reaching excellence in all our work.

The Role

Are you passionate about supporting young people and ready to build a career where you can make a real difference? We’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Youth Engagement Worker to join our Education and Guidance team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people, wants to develop their skills, and is keen to gain valuable experience in youth support, education, guidance and community-based work.

You’ll be part of a supportive and experienced team of Career Advisers, Coaches and Youth Engagement Workers who will help you grow in confidence and develop your skills. Using creative and engaging approaches, you’ll connect with young people, build positive relationships and support them to take their next steps into education, employment or training.

You’ll help us keep in touch with young people across Rochdale, understand what they are doing, identify who may need extra support, and play a key part in helping them move towards positive futures.

If you are looking for a role where you can learn, contribute and progress, we would love to hear from you. We value commitment, curiosity and the ability to connect with young people just as much as previous experience.

You may have the opportunity to work towards a Level 2 Certificate in Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) alongside your work with us.

If this sounds like the opportunity for you, please read the full role profile and submit your application. For further information about this post, please contact Lucysmith@positive-steps.org.uk
