General

Yesterday, we were at the Oldham Careers Fair, hosted by Oldham Council —an inspiring event that brought together young people, parents, and professionals eager to explore exciting career prospects!

Oldham Careers Fair

It was a pleasure having the Mayor of Oldham attend the Careers Fair, joining Councillor Ali and our Positive Steps team to engage with the community and explore opportunities.

The fair served as a thriving hub of opportunity and collaboration, where Positive Steps proudly showcased our services—Careers, Positive Futures, Positive Cycles, Well-being, and Volunteering—all aimed at empowering attendees to shape their futures.

Oldham Careers Fair: 1-1 Sessions

Our Careers Team were actively engaged throughout the fair, connecting with attendees, and providing practical advice tailored to their needs. They took the time to interact with young people and parents, offering insights that resonated with individual aspirations. The team shared their expertise and knowledge about various career paths and provided essential resources to guide them forward.

They were also on hand for one-on-one sessions, ensuring that everyone had the opportunity for personalised support.

One of the highlights of the day, was the creative setup by Positive Cycles, featuring a specially designed smoothie bike! Attendees could pedal to power the blender and create their own eco-friendly smoothies. The Mayor of Oldham even took part, cycling to make a fresh smoothie for himself.

Oldham Careers Fair Empower Oldham

Empower Oldham had a dedicated well-being setup at the fair, offering stress-relief activities like bracelet-making, which provided a creative outlet for relaxation.

In addition, our Volunteer Service engaged with attendees to discuss various volunteering opportunities, emphasising how they can foster personal growth and community involvement.

Overall, the Careers Fair was a resounding success, providing valuable insights and opportunities that inspired attendees to shape their future paths!
